We are looking for a professional experienced individual to join our Röchling Automotive team in Akron, OH.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, verify and update PFMEA, CP, and Operator Instructions.
  • Perform process, product, and roving audits to ensure compliance with CP.
  • Maintain SPC parameter selection, review, and monitoring.
  • Submit PPAP and obtain customer approvals including Engineering Change.
  • Facilitate customer and plant APQP process for quality related items.
  • Conduct problem root cause analysis/resolution using 5Y analysis and 8D reporting.
  • Analyze failure/Customer Returns and Defects.
  • Support Production Department with problem solving, decision making, and creation of border samples.
  • Create and validate Error Proofing within Production Processes.
  • Disposition (decision process) of suspect parts held for QE review (Control of non-conforming parts).
  • Disposition of customer rejections and charge back, review and control using SAP.
  • Enter customer complaint reports into SAP system and create 8D in SAP as applicable.
  • Train Quality Technicians, Quality Auditors.
  • Develop Gage Concepts, Measurement Plans and Gage Instructions.
  • Support other duties as defined by Quality Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Quality Engineering or related role within the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience leading root cause investigations and corrective actions using 5 Why, 8D, and other quality tools.
  • Working knowledge of Ford customer requirements, including Schedule A, Ford Portal, PPAP submissions, ISO/TS 16949/IATF 16949, and Q1 requirements.
  • Experience managing customer complaints, customer returns, and non-conforming material processes.
  • Familiarity with quality auditing processes, including process, product, and layered/roving audits.
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience with Engineering Changes (ECN/ECR) and customer approval processes.
  • Ability to develop measurement plans, gage concepts, and error-proofing solutions.
  • Knowledge of Injection Molding and/or Blow Molding processes is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional manufacturing environment and support production teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field.
