About the role
The Quality & Patient Safety Specialist will ensure patient safety and well-being across UCI Health's care continuum. Key responsibilities include analyzing adverse events, implementing risk reduction strategies, and conducting audits.
Responsibilities
- Analyze causal factors contributing to adverse events and errors
- Manage incident reporting and follow-up
- Conduct safety rounds and trainings
- Monitor clinical performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
- Conduct audits and assessments of clinical practices and processes
Requirements
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and the ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload. Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
- Experience in patient safety programs, incident report management, and safety rounds
- Ability to analyze data and identify opportunities for improvement in patient outcomes, clinical processes, and patient safety
- Experience conducting audits and assessments of clinical practices and processes
Skills
Highly skilled in causal analysis, incident report management, safety rounds, and organizational safety training. Proficient in data analysis and audit techniques.
