About the role

The Quality & Patient Safety Specialist will ensure patient safety and well-being across UCI Health's care continuum. Key responsibilities include analyzing adverse events, implementing risk reduction strategies, and conducting audits.

Responsibilities

• Analyze causal factors contributing to adverse events and errors
• Manage incident reports and perform daily surveillance
• Monitor clinical performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
• Conduct audits and assessments of clinical practices and processes
• Operate with autonomy to manage assigned duties

Requirements

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships

Qualifications

• Knowledge of UCI Health organizations, policies, and procedures
• Experience with University and medical center organizations
• Experience with clinical and medical leadership
• Experience with patient safety programs
• Experience with incident report management
• Experience with safety rounds and organizational safety training

Skills

• Human, organizational, and system factors analysis
• Causal analysis of complex patient safety incidents
• Documentation and follow-up on adverse events
• Audits and assessments of clinical practices
• Corrective actions facilitation
