Quality Operator - (Lab) (REQ850)

General Summary

The Quality Operator tests product batches, audits, and monitors manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards. They also test production, maintain Certificates of Analysis (COA) from suppliers, document inspection results, discrepancies, and corrective actions, generate non-conformance and defect reports, analyze inspection data, and prepare detailed quality reports for management review.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform first-piece, in-process, final, and receiving inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and other inspection tools
  • Document inspection results, discrepancies, and corrective actions in accordance with established quality management systems
  • Maintain and complete all required Quality Control documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Generate non-conformance and defect reports as required
  • Analyze inspection data and prepare detailed quality reports for management review
  • Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing Quality Control environment performing in-process, final, and incoming inspections
  • Understanding of inspection methods, blueprints, and specifications
  • Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 is a plus
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
  • Work in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing environment where temperatures may exceed 100°F
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, and other required safety gear

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a manufacturing Quality Control environment performing in-process, final, and incoming inspections. Understanding of inspection methods, blueprints, and specifications is preferred. Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 is a plus.
