Quality Manager - Customer

About the role
As the onsite Customer Quality Manager for the Trent 1000-TEN/XE based at Boeing, you will provide leadership, expertise, and direction on Quality to the Charleston Rolls-Royce Team. Developing and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with our customers is vital to our ongoing business success and a key part of this role. You will work both reactively and proactively with Boeing to meet their requirements and drive Quality performance improvements. This dynamic role involves managing high-pressure and challenging situations, with support from the onsite Operations Manager and the Senior Customer Quality Manager for Trent 1000, 7000, and 7000 engines. Travel up to 10% may be required.
Responsibilities
- Act as the initial Customer Quality point of contact to Boeing on-site teams, collaboratively resolving quality-related technical queries in a timely manner.
- Serve as the key interface for on-site assurance activities, deploying a local governance framework to monitor compliance with requirements (CAA Regulations (POA), ARIS, etc.) and managing findings, local Quality issues, and improvements.
- Lead the management and coaching of problem containment and resolution for issues originating within the on-site team to minimize impact and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Be the focal point for regulation and customer requirements applicable to the team, managing local Quality processes and relevant training in alignment with ARIS and the regulatory framework.
- Present and participate in Boeing Quality Reviews, providing local insight and reporting on Quality issues and events, and contributing to the Quality improvement strategy to meet Boeing Quality Scorecard targets.
- Lead local team Safety Assurance activities, provide reporting requirements, and ensure any safety concerns or risks are shared with Customer Team Leadership.
Requirements
- Experience in a Quality or Technical field, with working knowledge of Zero Defects tools/methodologies and practical experience in problem-solving methods (e.g., SIS, 8D).
- Demonstrated leadership and influence, including coaching techniques.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, ideally with experience working with external stakeholders/customers.
- Experience working under pressure and dealing with ambiguity.
- Experience leading and working with multifunctional teams to resolve problems and uphold quality standards.
- Ability to work remotely and develop relationships with teams in other locations.
- Associate’s degree and 7+ years of Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Engineering experience, OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience, OR Master’s degree and 3+ years of experience, OR JD/PhD, OR 9+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
Pay
$111,868 - $181,786 annually.
