About the role

As the Quality Manager at TSI Shoreview, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for quality, ensuring customer experience, product performance, and operational excellence remain central to business decisions. This role drives a culture of quality excellence and customer-centricity by translating customer feedback, field experience, and quality insights into meaningful improvements across products, processes, and services. You will lead TSI’s Shoreview Quality Management System (QMS), quality assurance, quality control, supplier quality, and quality improvement initiatives while collaborating with Operations, Engineering, Product Development, Supply Chain, Sales, and Customer Support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously improve TSI’s quality strategy, systems, standards, and processes to ensure products, services, and customer experiences consistently meet organizational and customer expectations.
  • Drive a culture of quality excellence, customer-centricity, and continuous improvement by partnering with leaders to align quality initiatives with customer and business needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns, leading investigation, resolution, communication, and follow-through to improve satisfaction and strengthen relationships.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and corrective actions that enhance product quality, operational effectiveness, and the overall customer experience.
  • Analyze customer feedback, field quality data, warranty performance, and quality trends to identify improvement opportunities and drive sustainable solutions.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve supplier quality performance, address concerns, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Support new product development and sustaining engineering efforts by ensuring quality requirements and customer expectations are incorporated into product and process designs.
  • Coordinate quality audits, maintain compliance with applicable standards, and serve as a key contact for external quality organizations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
  • Oversee calibration management and measurement system processes to ensure accuracy and traceability to NIST standards for TSI's precision measurement products.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key quality performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise Quality Assurance and Control personnel within TSI.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing quality team members.
  • Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support compensation and talent planning processes.
  • Foster employee engagement, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Build quality capabilities through training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in quality engineering, quality systems, manufacturing quality, or operational excellence.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience leading quality teams and driving cross-functional quality improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing quality systems and ISO 9001 compliance activities.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Desired: Experience with ISO 17025 and IECEX 60079.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Manager/OE (CQM/OE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience in precision measurement, instrumentation, or similarly regulated manufacturing industries (semiconductor, environmental monitoring, industrial hygiene).
  • Familiarity with QMS/document control software platforms.
  • Knowledge: Quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies including ISO 9001, Lean, and Six Sigma.
  • Manufacturing quality processes, quality standards, and process improvement techniques.
  • Quality planning and risk assessment tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, root cause analysis, and corrective action methodologies.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis tools.

Travel

Limited travel is expected for this position, primarily domestic, including supplier site visits and customer locations. Estimated at less than 10% of time, with some international travel possible.

Pay

Competitive market salary ranging from $130,000 to $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additional bonus opportunities may be available for eligible roles at the company’s discretion.
