About the role

As a Quality Manager, you’ll oversee and implement quality control procedures across three facilities located in Chesterfield and Troy, Michigan. You will ensure that all products and services consistently meet established standards by monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, analyzing data, and identifying areas for improvement to maintain high-quality output and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include developing and enforcing quality standards, training staff on quality procedures, and reporting on quality metrics to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain the quality management system per IATF 16949, AS9100, & ISO 9001.
  • Ensure that processes needed for the Quality Management System (QMS) are established, implemented, and maintained.
  • Conduct management review meetings.
  • Ensure the promotion and awareness of our QMS throughout the organization.
  • Plan and direct activities associated with the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality standards, processes, and work instructions.
  • Ensure customer needs (corrective actions, 8Ds, etc.) are met and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a document control system to approve, review, and update all changes to critical documents within the scope of the QMS.
  • Work with management to establish quality objectives for the QMS.
  • Establish metrics which provide objective evidence on the organization’s performance and compile data to report results.
  • Review the results of internal and external audits.
  • Recognize and perform FMEA, SPC, and root cause problem solving.
  • Work with manufacturing and other functional groups for investigations to troubleshoot customer problems/complaints, plant issues, and rejected lots/parts.
  • Determine root cause and corrective actions and develop project plans to drive change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Quality/Reliability).
  • Minimum of 3 years of quality management experience within an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred; willingness to obtain the certification during employment.
  • Experience and knowledge of APQP, 8D, Six Sigma, and Corrective Action tools.
  • Previous experience working with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Previous experience working with ISO/TS/IATF 16949 standards.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $95,600.00 - $153,900.00 annually. The salary offered within the range may vary depending on job level, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and compliance with local wage requirements. The successful candidate may be eligible for annual merit increases.
