Responsibilities

  • Drive quality improvement efforts to establish and enforce an effective Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Manage supplier quality, provide feedback on defects, and ensure corrective actions are received.
  • Implement and maintain an internal surveillance audit process to ensure adherence to the QMS.
  • Establish cross-functional training programs to ensure quality technicians are skilled in testing methods and internal auditing.
  • Coach and develop plant Quality Technicians in quality tools such as process audits, root cause countermeasure (PDCA), measurement systems analysis (MSA), statistical process control (SPC), and QMS.
  • Lead facility quality efforts, define areas of responsibility, personnel requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Update the quality assurance manual and procedures to establish an effective QMS.
  • Ensure Change Management procedures are followed and communicated to all affected associates.
  • Review and standardize control plans, closed-loop corrective action systems, and QMS across all plants.
  • Assure adherence to the internal audit plan to verify plant compliance with the QMS.
  • Enforce quality assurance standards, policies, and industry/government requirements for supplier quality.
  • Collaborate with the quality organization to share best practices and ensure standardization across business units.
  • Monitor QMS performance through data analysis and adherence to standards.
  • Work with facility management to achieve financial objectives, reduce customer credits, and initiate corrective actions to prevent systemic issues.
  • Monitor KPIs (Scrap, RMA, Supplier Quality Index, etc.) and create countermeasures when goals are not achieved.
  • Maintain a CSC (Sense of Crisis, Sense of Speed, and Sense of Communication) mindset.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, certifications, networking, and professional societies.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role in quality or engineering.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving experience with Lean Sigma, Six Sigma, and/or lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Skilled in statistical process control, change management, and legacy quality tools (PDCA, FMEA, control plans, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements.
