About the Role

The Quality Manager will recommend, implement, and maintain a quality system that best supports the engineering environment. This involves defining and documenting standard work to be followed and audited, as well as managing all levels of quality. The Quality Manager is part of a cross-functional team, establishing principles for product and service quality evaluation and control, and providing independent oversight of project deliverables throughout the lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the principles of product and control methodologies to maintain a stable manufacturing process that produces a product conforming to customer expectations.
  • Develop and operate the quality control system, including the application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures.
  • Use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices.
  • Apply knowledge of human factors and motivation to improve quality outcomes.
  • Reduce variation to continuously improve outgoing product quality.
  • Develop and administer management information systems for quality tracking.
  • Audit quality systems to identify and correct deficiencies.
  • Ensure familiarity with product quality, industry specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Assure implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System within Stanadyne.
  • Develop and implement systems to ensure products or services meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Participate in the change management process to maintain compliance with customer requirements.
  • Manage a team of Quality professionals, fostering understanding of quality philosophies, principles, tools, and standards.
  • Understand the audit process, including planning, execution, reporting, and follow-up.
  • Develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem-solving.
  • Plan, control, and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, including material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems.
  • Ensure product application quality in design and manufacturing.
  • Apply problem-solving and quality improvement tools and techniques, including preventive and corrective actions.
  • Acquire and analyze data using standard quantitative methods to facilitate process improvements.
  • Understand risk analysis philosophies and methodologies, as well as readiness processes and requirements.

Requirements

  • ASQ certified Quality Engineer (for hardware) or ASQ certified Software Quality Engineer (for software).
  • Previous experience with APQP and PPAP required.
  • Hands-on experience with precision grinding operations and manufacturing processing.
  • Hands-on experience with sophisticated measurement equipment (e.g., CMM, surface finish, form testers). Programming experience on such equipment is a plus.
  • Experience with TS16949 and ISO standards.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Business Operations, or Quality. Advanced coursework preferred.
  • 10+ years of active experience in a manufacturing environment.
