About the role
Radius Packaging is seeking a Quality Manager to join our team. This role will report directly to our Director of Quality & EHS. This position is located onsite in New Berlin, WI. We are open to applicants ready to lead, mentor, and elevate a quality function. This position is critical to maintaining and advancing our Quality and Food Safety systems, driving continuous improvement, and serving as a key customer and internal partner.
You will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Customer Service, and Leadership to ensure our products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and food safety expectations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D and other structured problem‑solving methodologies.
- Serve as a primary customer quality contact, communicating effectively regarding nonconforming product, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct, support, and respond to internal, customer, and third‑party audits.
- Analyze and report quality and food safety metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Actively participate in the Food Safety Team, including maintaining HACCP plans, prerequisite programs, and food safety policies.
- Support new product and process introductions through feasibility reviews, FMEAs, and equipment/process risk assessments.
- Partner cross‑functionally to drive process improvement and defect reduction initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory expectations.
- Depending on level, lead, mentor, and develop Quality team members, ensuring effective inspection, documentation, and escalation processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Quality, Food Science, or related field).
- 3+ years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment; packaging, plastics, or food‑contact experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of 8D problem solving, including tools such as DOE, fishbone diagrams, and statistical analysis.
- Experience using SPC and statistical quality tools to drive data‑based decisions.
- Familiarity with FSSC 22000 or GFSI‑aligned audits is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time‑management skills with the ability to work effectively across functions.
- A high sense of ownership, urgency, and commitment to continuous improvement.
