About the role

As the Quality Manager, you will lead all aspects of the Quality function at your assigned location, ensuring alignment with the company's Vision, Mission, and Goals. This role involves overseeing the performance, compliance, continuous improvement, and strategic integration of the Quality Management System (QMS). You will collaborate cross-functionally to support manufacturing excellence, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance, while serving as the company’s representative during audits and quality-related engagements with customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee overall product and process quality (QA/QC) for the Brookfield and Youngstown plants.
  • Supervise quality department personnel, managing, training, developing, and motivating them to achieve quality goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement, manage, and maintain the Plant Quality Management System in accordance with ISO-9001 and other relevant industry standards.
  • Train the organization on documented policies and procedures, ensuring training effectiveness.
  • Conduct internal audits and management reviews.
  • Ensure corrective and preventive action processes are in place and effective, driving continuous improvement of the QMS.
  • Align the QMS with actual practice and ensure all employees are aware of and compliant with their responsibilities.
  • Collect and analyze data, conduct root cause analysis, and report findings to foster continuous improvements.
  • Monitor and report KPIs/quality metrics (e.g., CoPQ, defect rates, audit findings) and present data to leadership to drive process improvement.
  • Prioritize, lead, and work cross-functionally to resolve internal, supplier, and field non-conformances.
  • Define and specify standards, methods, and procedures for inspection, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of company products.
  • Engage with customers on satisfaction, compliance issues, and quality-related meetings or audits.
  • Represent the company in QA/QC program evaluations, questionnaires, and client assessments.
  • Support Supply Chain with supplier audits, approvals, evaluations, and resolution of supplier non-conformances.
  • Support cost estimating for quality-related elements in bids and project planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a QA/QC leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and related standards; experience leading or maintaining certification.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, customer specifications, and quality documentation.
  • Familiarity with ERP and quality management software systems.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of inspection tools, quality control methods, and calibration requirements.
  • Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background checks.
  • Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50 lbs or more.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, sit, stand, and walk for four-plus hours at a time.
  • Alignment with company core values.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience in leading QA/QC in electrical manufacturing industries (preferred).
  • QMS Auditor/Lead Auditor certification (preferred).
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies (preferred).
