Quality Manager
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Quality Manager who can interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility, resourcefulness, and professionalism. The ideal candidate will anticipate challenges, solve problems creatively, and maintain strong written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
About the role
The Quality Manager will lead, manage, document, monitor, and analyze the quality system on medium to large projects, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
Responsibilities
- Lead Mortenson’s quality system on medium to large projects
- Implement Quality Management Plan from start to final acceptance
- Establish and lead quality control initiatives and corrective actions
- Review project plans for quality requirements
- Manage Quality Events, punch lists, and Non-Conformance Notices
- Resolve issues with or without guidance from Project Manager or Superintendent
- Oversee third-party design and testing agencies
- Manage subcontracts and suppliers, including quality program reviews
- Coach and mentor Field and Project Engineers, and support career development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field
- Minimum three years’ experience in design, engineering, or construction, with experience leading a project’s quality system
- Strong attention to detail to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Primavera Unifier
- Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of one or more quality systems (e.g., Malcolm Baldridge, ISO 9000, Lean, Kaizen, Army Corps of Engineers, Mortenson’s Quality System, continuous improvement, value streams)
- Experience with issue management and inspection of work put in place
- Completed training in basic project management and supervision
- Current driver’s license

Pay
The base pay range for this role is $100,100 – $150,200. Actual pay is positioned within the range based on knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Higher ranges apply for the following locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL (+5%), Seattle, WA and Portland, OR (+10%), Washington, D.C. (+12.5%). This position is also eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
