About the role
This highly visible role will partner with leadership, engineering, and operations teams to ensure compliance, solve complex quality challenges, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring ongoing compliance with AS9100 standards and customer requirements.
- Monitor key quality metrics and performance indicators, providing regular reporting and escalation recommendations to executive leadership.
- Plan and conduct internal AS9100 audits while supporting external customer and certification audits.
- Develop and implement quality control processes, including inspections, statistical process control (SPC), and process monitoring.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to identify quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze and report quality-related KPI data to drive informed business decisions and continuous improvement efforts.
- Lead root cause investigations and oversee corrective actions for internal, supplier, and customer quality concerns.
- Prepare and manage First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to support new product introductions and ongoing production programs.
- Aid in the development of Quality Test Plans (QTPs) and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) in collaboration with technical teams.
- Support source inspections and supplier quality activities as needed.
- Ensure compliance programs, policies, and quality procedures remain standardized, effective, and audit-ready.
- Verify that test equipment, materials, and services consistently meet quality and reliability requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing product quality, process performance, and operational efficiency.
- Perform additional quality-related responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years of Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 quality standards and quality management systems.
- Experience conducting internal audits and supporting regulatory or customer compliance initiatives.
- Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies.
- Hands-on experience using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and related inspection tools.
- Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action plans.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing quality metrics and performance measurement systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SolidWorks or CAD software is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to ITAR regulations.
