Job Details
- Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop, implement, and maintain QA policies and procedures ensuring full compliance with the current ISO 9001 revision, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Maintain an effective internal audit and corrective action system
- Lead the QA/QC team in quality control tests and evaluations throughout the production process
- Conduct ISO 9001 Management Reviews
- Manage QMS documentation including inspection reports, audits, and non-conformances
- Review all contracts and assist the Contracts Department in flowing requirements down to departments and suppliers
- Maintain a calibration system compliant with ISO 10012-1 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1
- Review and approve quality, production, and engineering documents (including changes) affecting the management system
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Contracts, Purchasing, and Materials to coordinate activities and resolve problems
- Drive supplier monitoring and improvement activities
- Train staff on QA policies and procedures relevant to their functions
- Serve as liaison with government and customer quality assurance representatives
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes for ongoing compliance
- Oversee project management initiatives tied to quality improvement
Qualifications
- Needed:
- Minimum 5 years of Quality Assurance/Quality Control management or supervision experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on ISO 9001 experience — strong understanding of standard requirements and implementation
- Strong knowledge of quality inspection techniques, internal audits, corrective action, and control processes
- Working knowledge of calibration systems and inspection equipment (ISO 10012-1 / ANSI/NCSL Z540-1)
- Working knowledge of manufacturing drawings and manufacturing/assembly concepts
- Familiarity with interpreting and complying with Government Contracts
- Proven leadership ability managing teams effectively
- Proficiency in project management methodologies for continuous improvement
- Basic PC skills: MS Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
- U.S. Citizenship (per application screening)
PREFERRED
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or Quality Manager Certification (e.g., ASQ CQM/CMQ-OE)
