Location: 12530 Parklawn Drive, Headquarters - Rockville, MD | Full-time position. Initial assignment on-site at a project in the Baltimore area for approximately two years, followed by a headquarters-based role with daily visits to various project sites.

About the role

As the Quality Manager, you will partner with Operations teams and collaborate across the organization to implement and lead quality management programs on our projects. You will drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management systems throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and assist with quality management programs across the organization.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality management systems.
  • Evaluate project scope and assess risks to quality.
  • Lead project kickoff efforts to identify risks and assign quality-focused roles and responsibilities.
  • Implement project-specific quality management plans and follow up with project teams on open or forthcoming portions.
  • Evaluate alternative quality control methods proposed by teams to ensure alignment with company and project expectations.
  • Participate in and lead quality-related portions of project meetings.
  • Assist operations staff with trade partner onboarding and quality planning; provide coaching when quality plans are not followed.
  • Enforce the use of DAVIS inspection templates and prepare project-specific templates as needed.
  • Prepare or support project teams in creating quality-focused documents for trade coordination, field implementation, and field quality control.
  • Provide technical assistance to correct deficiencies and ensure project standards are met; collaborate with outside agencies for product and installation guidance.
  • Educate project team members on quality department tools and resources to enforce best practices and corporate consistency.
  • Mentor and educate team members to develop critical observation and problem-solving skills.
  • Support operations staff with the RFI process, formulating comprehensive questions, and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Apply knowledge of contract documents and working drawings; navigate submittals for pertinent information.
  • Maintain and organize QA/QC documentation; correct project teams to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Investigate quality issues to determine root causes and participate in knowledge sharing with the quality management team.
  • Use project management software proficiently and train project team members and trade partners on its expected use.
  • Frequently visit jobsites and attend meetings to oversee project progress and address issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent construction experience.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of construction-related experience, including at least three years in a Quality-focused role.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction project management principles, including general safety standards.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands in both collaborative and independent environments.
  • Preferred certifications: CQM and ASQ.
  • Strong decision-making, research, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; effective interaction at all organizational levels.
  • Experience with Inspection Management Systems (Procore, BIM 360 Field, PlanGrid).
  • Current certifications for First Aid, CPR, and OSHA (must obtain and maintain).

Pay

Base salary range for this position: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00.
