Quality Manager
About the role
Jered, a PAR Systems company supporting the U.S. Navy and Department of Defense, is seeking a Manager of Site Quality & Compliance to lead Quality, Regulatory, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs at our Norfolk, Virginia operation.
Responsibilities
- Lead Quality, Compliance, and EHS programs for the Norfolk operation.
- Develop and mentor inspectors and quality personnel.
- Monitor quality KPIs, audit findings, rework trends, and compliance risks.
- Partner with Operations to integrate quality into execution planning.
- Implement and maintain corporate quality management processes.
- Ensure inspection strategies, staffing, and compliance controls support operational growth.
- Oversee inspection, testing, and verification activities across manufacturing and field operations.
- Lead NCR, MRB, CAPA, corrective action, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure compliance with NAVSEA, DoD, OSHA, ABS, ISO 9001, and contractual requirements.
- Serve as the primary interface for customers, DCMA, SUPSHIP, auditors, and government representatives.
- Lead internal and external audits and drive timely corrective action closure.
- Maintain certification records, inspection documentation, and quality data packages.
- Lead site Environmental Health & Safety programs.
- Ensure OSHA compliance and promote safe work practices.
- Establish and maintain required training, certifications, and PPE requirements.
- Exercise authority to stop work when quality or safety requirements are not met.
- Escalate critical compliance and operational risks to leadership.
- Partner with corporate quality leadership and support other Jered locations as needed.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience supporting U.S. Navy, DoD, shipyard, maritime, or regulated manufacturing programs.
- Strong knowledge of NAVSEA requirements, military specifications, and shipyard quality systems.
- Experience supporting welding, fabrication, inspection, and NDT programs.
- Leadership experience managing quality, inspection, or compliance teams.
- Experience with NCR, MRB, CAPA, root cause analysis, and audit management.
- Experience working with DCMA, SUPSHIP, customers, and government representatives.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS programs.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, procedures, and contractual requirements.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Ability to access military installations and shipyards.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field, preferred.
- Experience with Navy welding requirements (S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248), preferred.
- Experience overseeing NDT programs (T9074-AS-GIB-010/271), preferred.
- ERP and Quality Management System (QMS) experience, preferred.
