About the role
The Quality Manager will partner with Operations teams and collaborate with others within the organization to implement and lead quality management programs on our projects. This position will be on site at a project in the Baltimore area for approximately two years. Afterward, this role will be based at our headquarters, visiting a variety of project sites daily.
Responsibilities
- Implement and assist with quality management programs throughout the organization.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality management systems across the project lifecycle.
- Evaluate project scope and assess risks to quality.
- Lead project kick-off efforts for assigned projects to identify risk and ensure roles and responsibilities related to quality-focused tasks are assigned to appropriate team members.
- Lead implementation of project-specific quality management plans for assigned projects, including follow-up with project teams on open/forthcoming portions of the plan.
- Evaluate alternative project quality control methods proposed by teams to ensure they meet company and project expectations.
- Participate in and lead quality-related portions of project meetings.
- Assist operations staff with trade partners’ onboarding and planning for quality on assigned projects; identify when quality plans are not followed and provide coaching as required.
- Enforce use by project team members of the DAVIS inspection templates, prepare project-specific inspection templates as needed.
- Prepare or support project team in preparing quality-focused documents for use in trade coordination, field implementation, and field quality control.
- Provide technical assistance to project teams in correcting deficiencies and ensuring project standards are met; work with outside agencies to gather product and installation guidance as necessary.
- Educate project team members on the use of quality department tools/resources to enforce best practices and corporate consistency; work with Learning + Development department to create and deliver formal courses as necessary.
- Mentor and educate team members to develop critical observation and problem-solving skills.
- Support operations staff with the RFI process, formulate comprehensive questions, and ensure proper documentation.
- Understand and apply knowledge of contract documents and working drawings; navigate various submittal types for pertinent information.
- Maintain and organize QA/QC documentation; correct project teams as necessary to ensure documentation is being provided based on best practices.
- Manage investigations of quality issues to determine underlying causes; participate in knowledge sharing with quality management team.
- Proficient in using software such as the project management platform; able to teach project team members and trade partners in expected use of program; understand project settings to assist teams with effective use.
- Visit jobsites frequently and attend meetings to oversee project progress and address issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field or equivalent construction experience.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of construction-related experience, including a minimum of three years' experience in a Quality-focused role.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering and construction project management, including general safety standards.
- Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands when working in both a team-based collaborative environment and independently.

Pay
The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is $100,000.00 - $130,000.00.
Schedule
This role will be on site at a project in the Baltimore area for approximately two years, after which it will be based at our headquarters, visiting a variety of project sites daily.
