Quality Manager
Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Plant Quality Manager to lead all quality functions within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment. This leader will be responsible for maintaining compliance with aerospace quality management systems, driving operational excellence, supporting regulatory requirements, and ensuring the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the site's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and corporate quality standards.
Manage internal, customer, and regulatory audits while ensuring timely closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace manufacturing regulations and certification requirements.
Oversee nonconformance investigations, Material Review Board (MRB) activities, and root cause analysis efforts.
Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and PPAP methodologies for new product introductions and process changes.
Conduct risk assessments using FMEA and other quality planning tools to proactively mitigate manufacturing risks.
Utilize statistical analysis and quality metrics to monitor process performance, identify trends, and reduce defects.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Develop and mentor quality team members while fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
Partner with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes, customer satisfaction, and overall product quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline.
10+ years of progressive quality experience within aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality systems.
Strong background in auditing, CAPA, root cause analysis, and quality system management.
Experience leading cross-functional quality improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with SPC, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, control plans, and statistical analysis tools.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), or similar certification.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Experience with aerospace product manufacturing and regulatory compliance.
Knowledge of advanced inspection methodologies and manufacturing quality systems.
