Quality Manager role interfacing between Manufacturing and Quality at the Divisional Level, using multidisciplinary manufacturing knowledge to resolve quality-related issues in a fast-paced environment.
About the role
Supports Quality and Manufacturing functions by educating employees on quality systems, metrics, and customer engineering. Develops and empowers Quality personnel while improving cross-departmental relationships. Acts as a leader within the department, holding employees accountable for business ethics and daily performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Quality department to ensure delivery of high-quality products that meet customer needs.
- Provide training, learning, and development for all employees where appropriate.
- Train employees on quality system concepts, audit techniques, corrective/preventive actions, and continuous improvement activities.
- Partner with other departments to ensure adherence to the Quality Management System and other compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with operations, leaders, purchasing, customer service, and others to efficiently meet customer demand.
- Maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal and external customers.
- Support all regulatory and customer quality audits.
- Regularly inspect and evaluate products for quality and defects.
- Provide visibility to management of potential quality issues and input on internal perceptions associated with Quality and Delivery performance.
- Work with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance personnel to perform in-process reviews and ensure best practices are followed.
- Review applicable organizational policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy and relevance; communicate updates and changes.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Hire and train front-line employees.
- Organize, direct, and oversee the schedules and work of front-line employees.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Work with department leaders to monitor performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field, or equivalent work experience, preferably in the Aerospace Industry.
- Minimum of 3 years of knowledge and experience in the Quality Assurance field.
