Quality Manager

Reports to: Director of Quality | Supervises: QA/QC Inspectors

About the Role

Works closely with the Project Engineer, Project Manager, Lead Superintendent, Superintendents, Owners, and Engineers. Acts as an advocate for Signal Energy, LLC by promoting all company policies and procedures and fostering a positive attitude towards project goals. Must professionally represent Signal Energy with clients, subcontractors, and others at all times.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Quality Manager, Project Manager, and Lead Superintendent to address the needs of the field QA/QC Inspector staff.
• Manage the project team that continuously assesses work quality, tracks, and ensures corrective actions are completed per Signal Energy’s Quality Policies and Procedures.
• Champion quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the project.
• Effectively manage Quality personnel performing audit, inspection, surveillance, and testing activities in accordance with the project quality program.
• Oversee the Quality program for solar energy projects, including roads, foundations, high voltage electrical works, substations, and solar arrays.
• Maintain knowledge of all project plans, specifications, and drawings.
• Plan, lead, and coordinate all quality activities associated with project execution.
• Investigate non-conformance issues and implement corrective measures.
• Review and maintain project quality records, mentor QA/QC Inspectors, and conduct quality training for project team members, including subcontractors.
• Maintain and ensure compliance with Quality Policies and Procedures.
• Support project administration to ensure construction aligns with design, budget, and schedule.
• Develop and maintain an overall project quality plan, including deliverables and due dates, to comply with contract requirements.
• Ensure Subcontractors provide and comply with their Quality Policies and Procedures Manual, as well as Signal Energy’s.
• Communicate and implement Signal Energy’s Quality Policies and Procedures for all personnel on the project site.
• Resolve problems and issues through face-to-face and personal communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related area.
• Minimum 2 years of construction QA/QC experience on large commercial, multi-disciplined, industrial, utility, civil, highway/road, high voltage electrical, solar, or wind energy projects.
• Experience in managing, organizing, directing, and leading construction QA/QC preferred.
• Experience in SWPPP and erosion control.
• External/internal proven auditing experience and working knowledge of ISO Quality standards preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of technical and quality management aspects of construction activities.
• Knowledge of public and construction safety, security issues, and regulations.
• Excellent mathematical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply IFC drawings and job specifications for civil and electrical work.
• Leadership and coordination of teams, time management, and personnel resource management.
• Highly motivated with the ability to work independently under limited supervision.
• Strong problem sensitivity, adaptability, and critical thinking.
• Excellent coordination, time management, active listening, oral and written communication, and reasoning skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly and independently.
• Computer literacy and proficiency using MS Project and MS Office.

Certificates / Licenses

• OSHA 10-hour minimum (required).
• First Aid, CPR, SWPPP Training (preferred).
• ASQ or other Quality Certification (preferred).
