About the role
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality operations within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role will drive quality excellence, lead continuous improvement initiatives, manage customer and supplier quality expectations, and ensure compliance with automotive quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality team while driving departmental performance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee corrective action processes and ensure timely resolution of customer quality concerns.
- Manage customer quality metrics, including PPMs, PRRs, NCTs, and quality reporting requirements.
- Maintain and improve automotive Core Tools, including Control Plans, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, APQP, and PPAP documentation.
- Drive structured problem-solving initiatives using root cause analysis and 8D methodology.
- Ensure product and process quality standards are met, including fit, finish, durability, and appearance requirements.
- Monitor key product and process characteristics and implement improvement plans.
- Support compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, and industry standards.
- Serve as the primary quality contact for customer concerns and lead supplier quality improvement efforts.
- Manage supplier quality activities, including audits, incoming quality processes, and corrective actions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to reduce scrap, downtime, and improve First Time Quality (FTQ).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7–10+ years of quality management experience within the automotive industry, preferably with Tier 1 manufacturing experience.
- 3+ years of experience leading a quality team in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Proven experience supporting manufacturing turnarounds and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong background in supplier quality assurance and incoming quality inspection processes.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification required.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements (including Ford Q1 preferred).
- Experience with Minitab, 8D problem solving, and AIAG Core Tools.
- Experience with color and appearance standards/testing is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Multilingual skills are a plus.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Valid driver’s license required.
