Quality Manager
About the role
The Quality Manager at Actus Nutrition is responsible for ensuring product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance within the manufacturing plant. This role involves developing and implementing a preventative quality system, managing quality assurance specifications, and overseeing employee training and development.
Responsibilities
- Drive culture change by leading with a positive attitude and innovative thinking to support business strategy.
- Implement and monitor the company's Quality Assurance Program according to established policies and procedures.
- Establish quality assurance specifications for finished products, in-process testing, and ingredients, ensuring adherence by production personnel.
- Recruit, direct, coach, lead, and supervise QA personnel, continuously raising performance standards.
- Develop and implement education and development programs for employees, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality specifications, safety guidelines, and job expectations.
- Prepare and manage laboratory budget, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide timely analytical results on customer complaints.
- Interact with customers on complaint investigations and resolutions, professionally representing Actus on quality matters with vendors and customers.
- Aid operations with establishing procedures and supervising product and process development, reporting results, and managing inventory of off-spec materials.
- Conduct internal, vendor, and contract manufacturing audits as required, maintain and improve quality assurance lab data systems, conduct statistical analyses, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory policies.
- Stay current on production methods, formulations, analytical techniques, and federal regulations relevant to the company's products, making recommendations for improvement as necessary.
- Afford production personnel with training in product quality monitoring, including proper cleaning of production equipment and warehouse areas, conducting sanitation audits, and monitoring bag closures and storage methods.
- Coordinate pest control services.
Requirements
- 5 years previous manufacturing QA management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Life Science or related field
- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and computer software applications
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Previous supervisory experience

Pay
$115,000 - $120,000 annually, plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus*
