Responsibilities

• Manage the Aseptic Quality area, including operational quality, installation of new lines, products and processes, and the aseptic laboratory.
• Coordinate product releases, holds, start‑ups of new and reformulated products and production lines with cross‑functional teams.
• Ensure plant, regulatory and corporate QA systems and requirements are maintained.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to drive compliance and improvement in food safety and quality of production.
• Serve as backup to the Site QA Associate Director, supporting regulatory and third‑party audits.
• QA Aseptic Area Management (45%): drive and ensure Food Safety and Quality systems are up to date and compliant with regulatory and corporate standards; work with regulatory inspectors on food safety, sanitation and product compliance issues; analyze data to drive improvements (hold reduction, sanitation, cost/loss reduction); support CAPA, 5S and Lean Six Sigma work; support commercialization into plant systems (RMS, paperwork, Cornerstone) and perform risk analysis; manage hold inventory and balance supply chain and plant release requirements.
• Aseptic Laboratory Management (35%): maintain chemical, physical and microbiological sampling per required process; ensure QA laboratory meets safety, process safety and quality requirements; participate in plant safety program; coordinate corrective action plans when specifications are not met; supervise laboratory technicians; ensure laboratory is equipped and staffed as needed; coordinate implementation of in‑process specification controls; work with Soup laboratory on ingredient and supplier quality monitoring.
• General QA Management (25%): plan, perform, report and follow‑up on quality system, sanitation and food safety audits (HACCP, SSOP, GMP/housekeeping); act as QA representative for assigned area DDS team; perform pre‑shipment review of food safety and quality records; investigate product holds, perform dispositions and corrective actions; troubleshoot quality and food safety problems and foreign material occurrences; track corrective actions; assist Quality Systems leader with third‑party and regulatory audits; assist on feasibility and new product trials; recommend updates and develop work instructions; train new employees and refresher training on HACCP, SSOP and Quality Procedures; assist Operations group on maintaining USDA compliance and resolving process irregularities; act as backup/designee for QA manager’s absence on scheduled weekend days; participate and lead in plant and area projects as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of Quality Assurance manufacturing experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (nice to have)
• 7+ years of Quality Assurance food manufacturing experience (nice to have)
• 2 years in Aseptic quality or production (nice to have)
• Better Process Control Certification (nice to have)
• Knowledge of Organic production (nice to have)
• Demonstrated knowledge of microbiology (nice to have)

Pay

The target base salary range for this full‑time, salaried position is $115,600‑$159,000. Individual base pay depends on work location, experience, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
