Quality Lead
About the role
As our Quality Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will lead a team of quality control inspectors and technicians, overseeing all aspects of quality assurance and control processes throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. Your role will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position reports to the Quality Manager.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of quality control inspectors and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure alignment with quality objectives.
- Foster a culture of quality excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the quality control team.
- Implement quality control procedures, standards, and inspection protocols to ensure compliance with company regulations and customer requirements.
- Work with Engineers and Managers to perform root cause analysis and investigate quality issues, non-conformances, and discrepancies, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of quality control activities, inspection results, and compliance documentation.
- Generate comprehensive quality reports, metrics, and performance indicators to track quality trends, identify areas for improvement, and report findings to management.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and other departments to ensure effective communication and resolution of quality-related issues.
- Participate in production meetings and supplier evaluations to proactively address quality concerns and optimize product quality and reliability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing efficiency.
- Champion quality-related projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with respective departments in a way that leads by example, holds people accountable, and utilizes data to make informed decisions.
- Enforce and interpret the Quality and AS9100 QMS standards.
- Involve supervisor with quality deficiencies.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field or 3 years of relative experience.
- Thorough understanding of aerospace quality standards and regulations, such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and NADCAP, along with familiarity with industry-specific quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FAI, PPAP).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis, interpret technical drawings/specifications, and drive effective problem-solving initiatives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00 per hour. Exact salary will be contingent upon your experience, education, skills, and any other factors Winchester Interconnect Corporation considers relevant to the hiring decision.
