Responsibilities
- Oversight of all quality aspects, including fit and function, and documentation compliance
- Serve as the facility's Leadership Representative on your respective shift
- Aid team members in interpreting shop drawings, QMS requirements, and customer specifications, including obtaining clarification from other functions to ensure quality requirements are understood and met
- Support the implementation of quality management systems, best practices, and processes
- Contain, evaluate, and dispose of nonconforming products; investigate the root cause of nonconformances
- Aid team members in completing any certifications necessary to perform their duties
- Train the team on quality requirements, procedures, testing, and usage of measuring tools
- Identify potential areas of risk and make recommendations for solutions
- Identify process improvement initiatives and help execute projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC)
- Work with the plant team on root cause analysis and corrective action resolutions. Perform inspection and testing duties as required by customer specifications and other requirements that provide acceptance criteria for NTS products
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Supervisor
Requirements
- Associate's degree with at least 3 years of quality control/Non-Destructive Testing experience, OR
- At least 5 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing/fabrication facility
- 5+ years of experience with AISC or ISO quality systems
- Ability to interpret codes and standards, shop drawings, and customer specifications
- Highly adaptable, able to quickly adjust to shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment while maintaining a positive attitude and a proactive approach to getting things done promptly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and make informed, rational, data-driven decisions with minimal supervision
Qualifications
- BS in Leadership or Business Administration preferred
- NDT Level II in Ultrasonic Shear wave, Magnetic Particle and Visual Testing preferred
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector preferred
- Extensive knowledge of AWS D1.1 code preferred
