Quality Lab Technician

About the role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Quality Lab Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing active physical technical and organizational support to ensure the smooth operation of the quality chemistry lab.
Responsibilities
- Performs duties in support of the day-to-day functions of the QC Chemistry Laboratory, including, but not limited to basic use of balances, pH meters, and other wet chemistry techniques.
- Responsible for glassware cleaning and general lab cleanliness.
- Manages and stores laboratory notebooks and file folders offsite.
- Interfaces with laboratory information management systems to enter data as required.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by a lab supervisor/manager.
- Accurately and clearly documents inspection and test results in accordance with department and site SOPs.
- Stores lab supplies and reagents and conducts physical inventories.
- Performs equipment maintenance as required.
- Accurately organizes notebooks and file folders and prepares appropriate documentation for offsite storage.
Communications & Working Relationships
- Interact with scientists in the lab to ensure scientist needs are accommodated.
- Interact with supervisors (shared resource for 2) to determine day-to-day responsibilities.
- Interact with management team supervisors, manager, and senior leadership (as appropriate) to discuss concerns and suggestions for improvement.
Requirements
- Possess basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and can use a calculator.
- Demonstrates good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task and perform work in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment with good communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with peers, department management, and production personnel.
- Knowledge of computer systems at a level proficient to navigate input and/or reference computerized data.
- Must have sound judgment and basic analytical skills to enable assessment of risk related to monitoring of the manufacturing floor.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Associate's degree in chemistry with 0-2 years experience.
- Preferred: Associate's degree in chemistry with 0-2 years experience, actively seeking or intending to seek a four-year degree.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with cGMPs, CFR, and the USP or other monographs in a professional environment.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems.
Skills and Physical Requirements
- Walk or move about safely in a plant environment (1-3 miles/day).
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Ability to manipulate repetitively syringes, vials, stoppers, or other medical devices.
Pay
Base Salary: $25/hour. The compensation for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, work location, prior experience, and job-related knowledge, relevant skills, and expertise.
