About the role
The Quality Lab Technician performs essential chemical testing in a fast-paced laboratory, primarily using GC (the most critical skill) and techniques such as HPLC, GC, pH, FTIR, percent solids, viscosity, color, odor, appearance, and titrations. The role involves 80% lab work (product testing, blending samples, documenting results), 10% on production lines, and 10% paperwork/data entry. Testing includes liquid contents for aerosol products and occasional aerosolized product tests.
Responsibilities
- Perform chemical testing using HPLC, GC, pH, FTIR, and other wet chemistry techniques.
- Conduct product testing and blend samples in the lab.
- Document test results accurately in paperwork and notebooks.
- Spend the majority of time in the lab with some time on production lines.
- Test liquid contents for aerosol products and occasionally test aerosolized products.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- 1-2+ years of GC or LC experience in any industry.
- Experience with HPLC, GC, pH, FTIR, and other wet chemistry techniques.
Qualifications
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field is preferred.
Work Environment
- Second shift hours: 3 PM to 11 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Occasional weekend work or overtime may be required.
- Shift premium offered.
- Proper PPE (safety glasses, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs) provided and mandatory.
- Physical demands: 75% standing, 25% sitting, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Team includes a Quality Manager and several QC Chemists for support.
Pay
Pay range: $56,160.00 – $66,560.00/year. Individual compensation depends on qualifications, skills, experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.
