Quality Lab Technician

Job Summary

The Quality Lab Technician at Nypro Inc. is responsible for performing a variety of quality control tests and inspections on products and materials to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality and supporting the company's commitment to excellence.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine quality control tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products using various laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Document and record test results accurately and meticulously, maintaining detailed records of all analyses performed.
• Analyze test data, identify deviations from specifications, and report findings to the Quality Assurance team and relevant production personnel.
• Conduct visual inspections of products for defects, dimensional accuracy, and overall quality.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and accuracy of results.
• Prepare samples for testing according to established procedures and protocols.
• Assist in the investigation of quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints.
• Participate in the development and revision of quality control procedures and work instructions.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments regarding quality-related matters.

Job Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a scientific or technical field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Engineering Technology) or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in a quality control or laboratory setting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in using various laboratory testing equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, microscopes, tensile testers).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to accurately record, interpret, and report data.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is a plus.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
