Job Summary
The Quality Lab Technician at Nypro Inc. is responsible for performing a variety of quality control tests and inspections on products and materials to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality and supporting the company's commitment to excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine quality control tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products using various laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Document and record test results accurately and meticulously, maintaining detailed records of all analyses performed.
- Analyze test data, identify deviations from specifications, and report findings to the Quality Assurance team and relevant production personnel.
- Conduct visual inspections of products for defects, dimensional accuracy, and overall quality.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and accuracy of results.
- Prepare samples for testing according to established procedures and protocols.
- Assist in the investigation of quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints.
- Participate in the development and revision of quality control procedures and work instructions.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments regarding quality-related matters.
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a scientific or technical field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Engineering Technology) or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in a quality control or laboratory setting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using various laboratory testing equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, microscopes, tensile testers).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to accurately record, interpret, and report data.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is a plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
