About the role

The Quality Systems Lab Tech will oversee and enhance sanitation and environmental pathogen monitoring programs, review HACCP program documentation, and manage the label verification program.

Responsibilities

  • Review batch tickets and associated HACCP records
  • Weekly expired materials dispositioning
  • Manger order reviews
  • Manage pest control activities at the plant and warehouse
  • Manage plant and warehouse GMP program
  • Own the label verification program to ensure compliance with allergen control and proper labeling requirements
  • Ensure compliance with written cleaning, inspection, and pre-operational procedures of equipment, processing rooms, and storage areas
  • Use ATP swabs to verify the effectiveness of cleaning and evaluate procedural improvements or additional training needs based on trends results
  • Complete in plant daily inspections and participate in plant process and internal audits
  • Ensure timely change out of trash compactors and their proper use and condition
  • Work with the Operations team to perform Root Cause Analysis and implement Corrective & Preventive actions
  • Provide back-up in the Quality Laboratory as needed
  • Assist the Quality Supervisor with any duties as requested

Requirements

  • Experience in a science field or at least one year of experience in a food manufacturing facility or laboratory
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and organize technical data for communications and analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized
  • The ideal candidate possesses certifications in HACCP/HARPC, and training in environmental monitoring, auditing, and statistical process control

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a food manufacturing facility or laboratory
  • Experience in a science field preferred

Skills

  • Understanding of HACCP/HARPC principles
  • SQF certification
  • Environmental monitoring and auditing knowledge
  • Statistical process control training
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized

Benefits
