Quality Lab Technician

About the role

The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for conducting various laboratory tests, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with established standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out HPLC analysis
• Perform physical and chemical analyses
• Conduct IR and UV/VIS analyses
• Collect and store samples of raw materials and finished products
• Check and maintain laboratory equipment
• Maintain temperature, humidity, and cleanliness schedules
• Manage raw material logs and storage systems
• Supervise lab supplies, order, and stock
• Ensure lab environment is clean and ready for use
• Operate laboratory autoclaves and rapid micro systems
• Manage agar and broth supplies for microbiology
• Follow company safety and security protocols
• Use and wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of chemistry, including common lab procedures like microscopy, spectroscopy, chromatography, and chemical separation
• Proficiency in basic analytical techniques and skills for sample preparation
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
• Ability to execute technically sound experiments and present findings clearly and concisely
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivation and teamwork skills
• Proficiency in typing and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, email)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Attention to detail
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally
• Good interpersonal skills

Education & Experience

A degree in chemistry or a related field, or at least 6 years of laboratory testing experience.
