Quality Inspector - Operations
Summary
We are seeking an Inspector to support composite fuselage and propulsion fabrication, assembly, and related systems inspection functions, including DIT-MCO, HIRF, Skydrol, and photogrammetry. The role requires interpreting drawings and specifications, applying precision inspection methods, and ensuring compliance with Quality Management System standards. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical knowledge of production processes, effective communication skills, and the ability to cross-train across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities
- Composite Fuselage fabrication and assembly, Composite Propulsion fabrication, and all propulsion assembly statement of work
- Perform systems inspection function (DIT-MCO, HIRF, Skydrol, photogrammetry, etc)
- Perform all functions associated with these responsibilities
- Use and interpret drawings, inspection manuals and specifications, shop mathematics precision measuring instruments, specialized inspection machines, tools and equipment necessary to accomplish work assignments
- Experience working with Quality Management System Policies and Procedures
- Working knowledge of Company Policies, Procedures and Specifications
- Overall working knowledge of production processes
- Contact other company organizations or customer representatives, as required to coordinate and accomplish work assignments
- Communication skills written and verbal will be necessary as well as utilizing good computing skills
- Operate testing machines, calculate and record results
- Maintain certifications as required
- Plan own sequence of operations
- Follow Inspection (shop) procedures to accept or reject processes/parts/assemblies
- Verify that tools are qualified
- Prepare and maintain Quality records
- Work across equivalent or lower level Inspector job codes as required
- Cross-train in equivalent level Assembly, Composite, Metals, Process and Systems/Payload Structures Mechanic classifications
Basic Qualifications
- Must be willing and able to work any shift
- Must pass a vision exam
- Proficiency in basic computer operations
- 2 yrs manufacturing experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous quality assurance experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong mechanical background
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP systems
- Familiar with CATIA
Union
This is a union-represented position.
Pay
$24.81/hour, with potential to earn up to $41.27/hour in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
Kansas Tax Credit
