Quality Inspector I

Job Description

Wilsonart in Temple, Texas has openings as Quality Inspectors. These individuals will work in the Cut-To-Size department as a Quality Inspector. Inspectors receive orders for the day, checking product for any discrepancies. Perform other tasks as needed. These positions require working overnight, 9pm - 7am, to include weekends.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Starts shift by checking power industrial trucks (PIT)
• Receives all orders for the day
• Work orders by Team Lead's instruction and ship dates
• Check orders against storage list
• Sets up workstation for saw inspection and or full-size pack
• Works/handles material pulled against order
• Scan order barcode into R12 to verify all packing instructions
• Verify size, pattern, type, finish
• Correctly place tags with saw cut info
• Place laminate that has passed inspection onto designated table(s)
• Place rejected laminate onto designated table(s)
• Enter rejected laminate information into system
• Turn in productivity sheet to Team Lead
• Turn in shortages to pullers
• Complete assigned area cleaning by end of shift

Use of Proper Sizing and Packing Materials

• Ability to follow customer packing instructions
• Must band material following proper procedures

• Knowledge of computers sufficient to input and retrieve data
• Knowledge of products and their manufacturing processes
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Ability to use basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to read and write legibly
• Ability to identify material characteristics
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to maintain a safe work environment

Minimum Requirements

• EXPERIENCE: 1+ YEARS—One year experience working in distribution and/or manufacturing
• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs)

Environmental Conditions

• Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature extremes, loud noises and bright lights.
