Quality Inspector
Job Summary
Responsible for inspection of first production articles, in-process and final products using open set-up, CMM and inspection methods and techniques in accordance with drawing requirements and specifications.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings using geometric dimensioning and tolerances including and understanding of maximum material conditions
- Perform visual inspection, workmanship, dimensions, coatings, and material
- Inspect product per drawing requirement and specs using standard measuring equipment
- Performs inspections of raw materials and finished products, applying appropriate quality assurance testing models
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports
- Program and/or operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
- Perform small hand tool calibration
- Collect and tabulate data for SPC use
- Liaise with fellow Quality personnel to support inspection program
- Communicate inspection status with fellow team members
- Participates in root cause, corrective and preventive action program
Required Skills And Abilities
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually
- Ability to positively influence others and create a passion for excellence
- Strong understanding of GD&T
- Inspect detail parts per drawing requirement and specs using industry-standard measuring equipment
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports
- Program and/or operate Coordinate Measuring Machines
- Perform small hand tool calibration
- Collect and tabulate data for SPC use
Education And Experience
- Experience in basic and advanced inspection techniques using various inspection tools and methodologies
- High school graduate
- 3-5 Years mechanical inspection, manufacturing experience
- Post high school education in math, engineering, inspection techniques or related fields a plus
