Responsibilities
- Perform quality testing including:
- Obtaining samples from end-of-line at predetermined frequencies
- Conducting tests per internal work instructions and procedures
- Testing outgoing products for thickness, basis weight, fiber diameter, fiber index, friability, crystallinity, tensile strength, and compression
- Performing additional testing as required and retesting materials as directed
- Provide production support by:
- Relieving end-of-line operators periodically
- Assisting in rebuilding and refurbishing needle boards
- Auditing production lines and product quality
- Maintain clean and safe equipment and orderly work areas
- Complete daily shift turnover reporting
- Communicate regularly with production regarding test results and sorting needs
- Ensure accurate entry of all test results into electronic systems
- Perform other related duties as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma required; associate degree or post-high school training preferred, or equivalent industrial experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to access information through computer databases
- Ability to read simple gauges and follow work instructions
- Ability to work a 12-hour continuous shift schedule (4 days on, 4 days off, rotating days/nights, 7 AM–7 PM)
- Physical requirements:
- Lifting up to 50 lbs
- Repetitive stair and ladder climbing
- Ability to work successfully in a team environment

- Fork truck, computer, wet scrubber, furnaces, small hand tools, carton sealer, stapler, carton erector, tape gun, stretch wrapper, power washer
Facilities and materials used
- Facilities: electricity, water, compressed air, steam, LP gas
- Materials: ceramic fiber mixes, cutters, bags, stretch wrap, hand tools
Pay
$24.41 per hour. Pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other individualized factors. Total compensation package details will be provided upon offer.
