About the role
Working under direct supervision, level one quality inspectors perform basic inspection tasks relating to mechanical testing in the Final Inspection Area. This position requires a basic understanding of shop math, print reading, measuring tools, product segregation, and quality reporting.
Responsibilities
- Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
- Adhere to quality processes and work instructions.
- Correctly interpret work orders.
- Perform Mechanical Inspection Tests (shear, tensile, spindle retention, and disassembly testing).
- Work in a team environment, i.e., follow instructions and assist others as needed.
- Participate in Round Robin and Proficiency Testing.
- Ensure tools/equipment meet standards and calibration requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- The ability to read and write English.
- The ability to perform basic shop math, including fractions and decimals.
- The ability to use basic hand tools, such as wrenches.
- The ability to navigate an intranet to locate process documents (basic computer skills).
- The ability to read and interpret work instructions and access instructions from the intranet.
- Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as business needs demand.
Qualifications
Typically 0-1 years of experience. GED or high school diploma preferred but not required.
