Quality Inspector

About the role

Working under direct supervision, level one quality inspectors perform basic inspection tasks relating to mechanical testing in the Final Inspection Area. This position requires a basic understanding of shop math, print reading, measuring tools, product segregation, and quality reporting.

Responsibilities

• Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
• Adhere to quality processes and work instructions.
• Correctly interpret work orders.
• Perform Mechanical Inspection Tests (shear, tensile, spindle retention, and disassembly testing).
• Work in a team environment, i.e., follow instructions and assist others as needed.
• Participate in Round Robin and Proficiency Testing.
• Ensure tools/equipment meet standards and calibration requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

• The ability to read and write English.
• The ability to perform basic shop math, including fractions and decimals.
• The ability to use basic hand tools, such as wrenches.
• The ability to navigate an intranet to locate process documents (basic computer skills).
• The ability to read and interpret work instructions and access instructions from the intranet.
• Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as business needs demand.

Qualifications

Typically 0-1 years of experience. GED or high school diploma preferred but not required.
