Quality Inspector

About the role
This Production Assistant role is responsible for performing routine electrical testing on transformers to verify they meet company and customer quality standards. Using an automated computer-controlled test system, the technician connects transformers, initiates testing, verifies results, applies required identification labels, and documents any failed units. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow standardized procedures, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine electrical testing on transformers using an integrated automated test system.
- Connect and disconnect transformers from testing equipment.
- Operate a computer-controlled testing system and initiate automated test sequences.
- Verify test completion and identify pass/fail results as indicated by the system.
- Print and apply required product labels and documentation.
- Verify that serial numbers, part numbers, nameplate information, labels, and work orders match before releasing product.
- Tag and document failed transformers in accordance with established procedures and route them for repair.
- Move transformers between workstations as needed.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and work instructions.
- Assist in cross-training and support other production areas as business needs require.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to follow written work instructions and standardized procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Previous manufacturing or production experience.
- Experience working with computerized equipment or automated production systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of transformers weighing up to approximately 50 pounds independently (heavier items may require assistance).
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to accurately read serial numbers, part numbers, work orders, labels, and nameplate information.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to connect testing equipment and apply labels accurately.

Schedule
Production operates:
- Monday–Thursday: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Typical shifts are approximately 8 hours per day. Flexible start times are available, and schedules can be adjusted based on business needs and employee availability.
