Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections on incoming raw materials and outgoing products using AN, MS, NAS, and MIL standards
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAIs) and generate documentation per AS9102 requirements
- Reject and return nonconforming products and materials
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Use precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, plug/ring gauges, optical comparators to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Maintain and enter inspection results into internal databases and complete supporting documentation
- Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, and Production teams to resolve quality-related issues
- Communicate directly with customers and suppliers to address and resolve inspection discrepancies
- Monitor calibration status and functionality of inspection equipment; report maintenance needs
- Stay up to date with evolving quality practices and industry standards
- Support continuous improvement by recommending process enhancements
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality system
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment (aerospace or defense strongly preferred)
- Proficient in using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and other measuring tools
- Strong understanding of fastener specs, materials, and finishes
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and blueprint reading
- Familiar with AN, MS, NAS, MIL, IATF, and AS9100 standards
- Skilled in math, measurement conversions, and technical reading comprehension
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team setting
- Certification in Quality Control is a strong plus
