Quality Inspector
About the role
Herzog Energy, Inc. is currently seeking a Quality Inspector for Utility Scale Solar Projects across the United States to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Control the quality of all construction works under the direction of the QC Manager.
- Dedicated full time to the construction project, with no other responsibilities other than quality related duties.
- Create and maintain construction quality control documentation including reports, completed submittals, and approved shop drawings in a controlled and secure documentation system.
- Identify and implement quality management needs beyond ISO 9001:2015 on a project-specific basis as needed.
- Conduct daily inspections and surveillances of construction and testing activities and suppliers/manufacturers in accordance with contracts and specifications requirements.
- Provide examples of similar experiences and accomplishments and demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Engage, participate, and promote Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four-year college degree or equivalent field experience preferred.
- Solar experience required.
- Three years of experience in heavy civil, mechanical, and/or electrical construction for Utility Scale Solar.
- Familiar with the Three-Phase Program of inspection.
- Knowledge of company quality control program applicable to work.
- Ability to determine acceptability and reject ability of work based on assigned criteria.
- Previous quality control inspection experience.
- Familiarity and knowledge of codes and standards applicable to specific construction activity.
- QC inspection certifications from DOT, ASQ, and other recognized training institutions preferred.
- Willingness to travel and relocate to fulfill the position’s requirements.
- Ability to write detailed reports and demonstrated computer skills necessary to access, research, and document results in the electronic medium.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual is a plus.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Valid driver's license and endorsement as required per position.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
Physical Requirements
- Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
- Occasionally ascend/descend step ladders and/or stairs.
- Regularly sit and stand for an extended period of time.
- Regularly kneel, bend, and squat.
- Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
- Able to hear and distinguish auditory signals.
- Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
