Quality Inspector
About The Role
Beaver Aerospace & Defense is hiring a seasoned Quality Inspector to join our afternoon shift, inspecting high-precision aerospace and defense components against tolerances as tight as .00001″ to .00005″. Our products fly on some of the most demanding platforms in the world — there is no margin for "almost right." This is a fast-paced, floor-active role. You'll split your time across floor inspection, lab work, and documentation, interfacing directly with peers, source inspectors, government inspectors, and customers. You'll make decisive judgment calls under pressure, Quality = Quality and we expect speed and precision, every time.
Primary Responsibilities
- Inspect product against engineering drawings and work instructions across machining processes including Lathe, Milling, Drilling, Deep Hole, OD/ID Grinding, Thread Grinding, and NDT.
- Perform First Article (FAI), Critical-to-Quality (CTQ), receiving, in-process, floor, and final inspections.
- Set up and operate CMM (Calipso software), calipers, micrometers, height gages, and other industry-standard precision measurement equipment.
- Inspect to tolerances ranging from .00001″ to .00005″.
- Maintain the gauge calibration system — verify due dates and condition, coordinate third-party calibration, and ensure out-of-cal gages are removed from service.
- Generate and distribute detailed, legible Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Communicate quality issues clearly and thoroughly across shifts — handoff communication is critical.
