Quality Inspector
Position Summary
Gwynedd Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to ensure that all received items meet engineering requirements, purchase order specifications, and quality standards before being released to production.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspection on incoming raw materials, components, and finished or semi-finished parts
Verify conformance to purchase orders, engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements
Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, etc.)
Apply AQL and sampling plans as required for incoming inspection
Review certifications, material test reports, and supplier documentation for accuracy and compliance
Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming material in accordance with SOPs
Generate and maintain inspection records, inspection reports, and nonconformance documentation
Communicate quality issues with internal teams (Quality, Purchasing, Engineering, Production) to support timely resolution
Assist Quality Management with root cause investigations and corrective action activities related to supplier issues
Ensure compliance with internal quality systems, ISO standards, and applicable customer or military specifications
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to incoming quality and supplier performance
Qualifications
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a quality inspection or receiving inspection role within a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of computer-based and electronic systems, with the ability to navigate, input, and manage data within digital quality management systems (QMS)
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles
Experience using precision measurement and inspection tools
Familiarity with AQL sampling methods and inspection plans
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or other regulated quality systems; military or defense standards a plus
Comfortable working with inspection records, databases, and basic computer applications
High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively across departments and with suppliers as needed
Dependable, self-motivated, and committed to maintaining high quality standards
Physical And Work Environment Requirements
This position is based in a manufacturing environment and may require the following over extended periods of time up to a full 8-hour work shift (excluding lunch and breaks):
stand, walk, sit, squat or bend, kneel and rise, lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to — and occasionally exceeding — 50 pounds
view a computer or other digital screen, work on a computer, workstation or comparable system, and make accurate entries in such systems
Manual dexterity and fine motor skills are required for detailed assembly and precision work
Work may take place in areas with varying temperatures or no climate control, varying noise levels, and production equipment in motion
Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in designated areas at all times as required by company policy
