About the Role

A hardworking and enthusiastic team member with a good eye for detail, responsible for performing standardized quality checks on products to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform QC inspection support throughout fabrication, picking, packing, and shipping in receiving, WIP, and/or final inspections and audits to specified requirements.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in providing concise, useful, and unambiguous reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform end-of-line inspections.
  • Read and apply company and customer prints and specifications as quality criteria during inspections.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to communicate quality problems professionally and effectively.
  • Follow daily workload guidance promptly and effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or higher.
  • 0-2 years’ experience or basic knowledge of fabrication techniques including welding, CNC, forming, assembly, coating, and warehousing.
  • Must work effectively and independently, be well-organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Must interface with all departments in a professional manner.
  • Basic knowledge of inspection techniques and equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gages).
  • Mechanical ability, an eye for abnormalities, and aptitude for detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 environment (desired but not required).
  • Knowledge of internal auditing, PPAP, control plans, and PFMEA (desired but not required).

Skills

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports professionally.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to follow instructions, handle standardized problems, and make decisions with awareness of when/where to make concessions.
  • Computer Skills: Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; previous experience with ERP systems.

Physical Demands

  • Medium work: Lifting up to 50 pounds; frequently lifting up to 20 pounds; constantly moving up to 10 pounds. Moving over 50 pounds requires a lifting device or team lift.
  • Frequent standing, sitting, walking, and use of hands/fingers.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Talking, hearing, and seeing.
  • Pushing, pulling, reaching, and repetitive motion.

Equipment and Tools

  • Machinery: Angle roll, horizontal roll, plate roll, vertical and horizontal band saw, press brake, de-burring equipment, forklift.
  • Inspection tools: Calipers, micrometers, radius gauges, tape measure, set-up charts, templates.

Work Environment

The role operates in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, dust, and hazards associated with heavy machinery and high-traffic areas.

Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, with required overtime. Hours may change at management’s discretion with prior notice.
