About the role
This on-site, hourly position is governed by the IAMAW 2766 Collective Bargaining agreement. The selected candidate must be able to work any shift based on seniority and work assignment. This site operates three shifts:
- A shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm
- B shift: Monday-Thursday 4:30pm - 3:00am
- C shift: Friday-Sunday 6:00am - 6:30pm
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which U.S. Citizenship is required. An interim U.S. Secret clearance pre-start is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Use and interpret DoD, NASA, and Boeing blueprints, specifications, directives, documents, manuals, inspection plans, and other quality-assurance information.
- Set up and operate measuring instruments and equipment necessary to complete work assignments.
- Follow inspection and statistical sampling procedures to accept or reject materials and adjust inspection levels.
- Interpret statistical process control charts and coordinate corrective actions and adjustments with quality engineering.
- Move materials (parts, sub-assemblies, assemblies, tools, jigs, equipment, documentation, and supplies) within the work area for inspection or assembly/test of products, including packaging and unpackaging.
- Set up equipment and perform tests on various products and assemblies using manual, semi-automatic, or automated test devices.
- Witness, evaluate, certify, and record certification test data; maintain personal certifications as required.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for proper identification, quantity, damage, packaging, paperwork, shipping instructions, and perform dimensional, composition, non-destructive, destructive, and other inspections.
- Review recurring discrepancies to determine causes and required corrections.
- Review completed inspection records to ensure compliance with written directives and program direction.
- Conduct internal reviews to ensure compliance with the Quality Manual and other procedures such as Quality Instructions, Sampling Plans, and Operating Procedures.
- Prepare and edit reports for supervisory approval.
- Assist the Manufacturing QA Manager in continuous process improvement efforts.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Maintain licenses, permits, and certifications required to perform assigned work.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the general job classification.
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be willing to work any shift.
- U.S. Citizenship required to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; an interim U.S. Secret clearance pre-start is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing dimensional, composition, non-destructive, destructive, and/or electrical/electronic inspections.
- Experience gathering data and performing Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
- Experience with Non-Conformance (NCR) processes.
- Experience with circuit card and/or electronics manufacturing.
- J-STD-001 certification.
- Active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Pay
Summary pay range: $22.00/hr – $28.00/hr starting rate, based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
