About the role
The Production Team Member – Quality Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our pontoon boats. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive inspections, adhering to established standards, and contributing to our commitment to delivering exceptional products with a focus on Quality, Service, and Innovation.
Responsibilities
- Incoming Inspection: Verify that all materials entering the facility conform to the quality of incoming product as expected.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate, complete, and organized records.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate with department leads, buyers, and suppliers to ensure non-conforming parts move through the process efficiently.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements and quality control measures.
- Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting findings and recommended actions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results and communicate them to relevant departments.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production, engineering, and customer service, to address and resolve issues identified during inspections.
- Provide feedback to improve the manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing enhancements to the inspection process.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve overall efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures during the inspection process.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- Stay informed about industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to pontoon boat manufacturing and inspection.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Support a Barletta Safe culture by adhering to and advocating for the safest behaviors and proactively identifying opportunities to mitigate job-related risks and hazards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in quality inspection or quality control within the marine industry (plus).
- Knowledge of pontoon boat construction, systems, and components (plus).
- Detail-oriented with excellent observational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills to convey inspection findings and collaborate with other departments.
- Familiarity with manufacturing safety protocols and regulations (helpful but can be learned on the job).
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
- Experience working in a team-focused manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Ability to perform all physical requirements required for the position, including but not limited to standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, climbing, squatting for 8+ hours, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Good work ethics, positive attitudes, and motivation to meet and/or exceed production goals.
- Able to work flexible hours (overtime) if needed.
- Flexibility to take on additional assignments given by supervisor as required / needed to support production goals.
- Great attendance record and reliability.
