Quality Inspector

About the role
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that the products being produced meet quality standards and specifications. The inspector will review products and material, measure objects compared to their physical specifications, run quality tests, and identify defects. The inspector is also responsible for reviewing supplier paperwork such as certifications to ensure they are compliant with customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Examine raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet specified criteria.
- Perform visual inspections, measurements, and various tests to identify defects or deviations from standards.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and non-conforming products.
- Report defects to relevant personnel.
- Communicate with production, engineering, and management to provide feedback on quality issues and collaborate on solutions.
- Train production workers on quality standards and inspection techniques.
- Conduct final inspection to ensure products meet all quality standards.
- Cross-train in production to fill in gaps.
- Maintain a clean, organized inspection area.
- Audit production lines to ensure the manufacturing process is stable.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of quality inspector experience in a manufacturing environment minimum.
- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, drop gauges, and measuring microscope.
- Able to read drawings/specifications and interpret requirements.
- Basic computer skills such as data entry.
- Ability to classify defects based on failure criteria.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GD&T.
- Experience in automated manufacturing and CNC machining.
Skills
- Attention to detail.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic math and computer skills.
