QUALITY INSPECTOR

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all products coming into the facility are consistently high quality and adhere to relevant specifications.
• Inspect all fresh produce arriving at the facility before it’s accepted into the warehouse.
• Document issues noticed during inspection process and discuss inspection results to the Quality Supervisor.
• Recommend adjustments and changes to increase product consistency.
• Inspect produce returned by retail customers to determine cause of credit and evaluate who is responsible and how to reduce future issues.
• Comply with all aspects of the food safety programs and assist with recordkeeping requirements.
• Attend seminars and educational conferences to stay up to date on USDA standards and company quality standards.
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of fresh produce, with a special emphasis on potatoes and onions
• Forklift certification preferred
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn about fresh produce with a special emphasis on potatoes and onions
• Attention to detail
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership skills and teamwork mentality
• Written communication skills

Physical/Environmental Demands

• Prolonged periods standing and walking
• Variety of repetitive movements
• Good manual dexterity to perform required tasks
• Exposure to airborne particles or fumes
• Stairs will need to be climbed throughout the day to access the grading line
• Must wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas
• Occasionally will need to lift up to 60 pounds

5:45 - 2:30 pm
Increased hours during storage time (September - End of October)
