Quality Inspector 1 - 2nd Shift
About the role
This role supports our second shift, Monday through Friday, from 3:30pm to 12:00am.
Responsibilities
- Obtain blueprints and company specification sheets for the item and particular order.
- Review internal operation sheets against customer blueprints.
- Determine inspection procedure to ensure complete verification of specifications and dimensions.
- Obtain necessary fixtures, gauges, and indicators to check parts for compliance with specifications, within prescribed tolerances.
- Complete certain assurance checklists during the process.
- Perform dimensional checks of parts while in the machine when necessary.
- Rejects unacceptable items, documents nonconformance, and moves part to quality clinic.
- Accurately document all inspections (Receiving, In-Process, Final).
- Communicate with co-workers, colleagues, and supervisors to receive instructions and/or guidance and coordinate activities.
- Organize and maintain inspection department, gaging methods, etc.
- Work independently and efficiently to meet customer requirements.
- Work with shop personnel to induct incoming parts and aid in the expeditious shipment of critical parts.
- Adhere to standards of safety and housekeeping as established.
- Perform other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required.
Requirements
- Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data.
- High School Degree or G.E.D.
- 1+ years of inspection experience in manufacturing environment, or equivalent.

- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English at a functional level.
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, swing gage, etc.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions such as Op Sheets, Engine Manuals, Customer Purchase Order Requirements, etc.
- Ability to work with operators to ensure all requirements are met.
- Ability to travel 5-10% when required.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and machinery limitations.
