Quality Inspection Technician

About the role
As a Quality Inspection Technician at a Connecticut-based A&D Industry Small Parts Distribution Center, you will primarily review and process aero-engine hardware at Receiving and Shipping. This includes inspection (gaging parts, visual review), verification of associated quality documents (availability, accuracy, and completeness), and entry of technical data into internal customer systems and their customer’s data submittal portals.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspection using hand gages, optical comparators, advanced (Johnson) thread gages, visual inspection, and digital photographic documentation.
- Verify and compile technical records and quality documents, including Certificates of Conformance (C of C’s).
- Enter technical data into forms and systems accurately and retrieve data as needed.
- Support the creation of First Article Inspection Reports (AS 9102 FAIR) by providing FAI inspection and quality record verification.
- Spot, segregate, and document non-conforming material when encountered.
- Interact with multiple computer systems and software.
- Collaborate daily with your project/team leader and peers.
- Apply blueprints and quality requirements information to tasks, with a working understanding of GD&T and its relation to gaging.
- Use Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook as a daily capable user.
Requirements
- AS-Technical Degree (preferred) or minimum 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Alternate: 5+ years of relevant experience with no/non-technical degree.
- Other technical certifications (DQR, CQT, CQE) are noteworthy.
- Prior demonstrated ability to focus on semi-recurring tasks.
- Experience operating in procedure-based and regulatory-controlled environments.
- Shop floor/distribution site environment: extensive desk work, walking, standing, and ability to lift 40 lbs. at times.
- Safety shoes required.
- “U.S. Person” status required due to the nature of the work.

Pay
$25/hour - $35/hour. Compensation decisions are based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure.
Schedule
On-site position located in Enfield, CT. Work schedule: Monday-Saturday, 6 AM - 6 PM, with a specific work schedule of 48 hours per week to start. Hours over 40 per week are paid at 1.5x for hourly roles. The schedule may change based on work demand.
