Quality & Informatics Program Coordinator
About the role
The Quality & Informatics Program Coordinator supports the Quality & Informatics Department by ensuring accurate clinical documentation, data integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role provides training and support to clinical staff on the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, monitors documentation quality, and collaborates with leadership, IT, and the EMR vendor to improve processes. The program coordinator also assists with performance improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and education for clinical staff across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Train and support clinical staff on the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and documentation standards
- Serve as a liaison between the EMR vendor, IT department, and clinical teams
- Maintain knowledge of hospice reimbursement and funding sources (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance)
- Provide on-site and field education, including home visits and support for hospice residence staff
- Ensure compliance with State, Federal, CMS, and Joint Commission regulations
- Collect, analyze, and report quality and clinical data to leadership and quality committees
- Support quality improvement and performance improvement initiatives
- Afford ongoing guidance and technical support related to clinical documentation and technology systems
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Quality and Informatics
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 2 years hospice experience
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and advanced Excel
- Experience with clinical education and EMR systems
