We are recruiting for a Quality Improvement Specialist to join our corporate office in Fresno, CA. This position provides clerical and data support for UHC’s quality improvement program, assisting in both clerical and analytical functions of the department.
Responsibilities
- Interpret performance improvement data from an organizational standard perspective and explain it to staff and management personnel.
- Coordinate, tabulate, and analyze performance improvement data from a clinical perspective.
- Prepare and distribute performance reports to Quality Improvement Committees, including:
- Patient Satisfaction
- Employee Satisfaction
- Provider Chart Audits (e.g., Medical and Dental)
- United Health Center Quality Measures (Uniform Data System)
- Assist in educating and training UHC staff on the quality improvement plan and UHC’s quality patient measures.
- Responsible for provider tracking and enrollments into quality programs.
- Coordinate and maintain records of Quality Improvement Committee meetings.
- Assist in general clerical/office duties associated with the department.
- Report and analyze specific health center projects.
- Work with the Quality Improvement Manager to develop strategies for continuous improvement of UHC's service delivery and operations, including development and monitoring of performance methods and measures.
- Collaborate with the Quality Improvement Department to develop and/or implement new and updated policy and procedural guidelines.
- Regularly review office files and operating processes against standards to determine compliance status, evaluate root causes of deficiencies, and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate operations, service delivery, and performance to identify potential improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with on-site performance improvement teams to design, implement, and monitor quality improvement initiatives.
- Assess staff development efforts, evaluate effectiveness, and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Create and maintain program review instruments and methods, ensuring reviews are conducted and reported on schedule.
- Participate in and/or conduct meetings to assess current operations and service delivery, recommending improvement initiatives.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement performance improvement initiatives as requested, keeping the Quality Improvement Manager apprised of progress.
- Research, tabulate, and prepare program performance information.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of federal, state, local, and internal rules, regulations, policies, and procedures governing UHC programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Degree/certification in a healthcare-related field preferred (e.g., BS in Health Education, Medical Assistant certification).
- AS/AA or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license.
- 1 or more years of clerical experience or experience in a healthcare setting.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position starts at $24.20 an hour, dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
