Responsibilities
- Aid the quality department in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system (AS9100).
- Collaborate with quality engineering to facilitate audits/layered process audits, and close out audit findings using proper corrective actions.
- Program metrology equipment, including CMM, laser scanning, etc.
- Support completion of FAI (First Article Inspection) reports, including ballooning drawings, generating AS9102 forms, layout inspection, statistical analysis, and generating control plans.
- Conduct receiving inspections, including reviewing certificates and counts, signing off routers, receiving and releasing raw material (using XRF device and assigning heat codes).
- Assist Quality Engineering in metallurgical testing of materials by assisting in procedure generation, compiling testing data, and coordinating with testing vendors for test results.
- Support Quality dock functions, including creating, filing, and reviewing various quality-related documents and other administrative tasks as required.
- Complete DQR review processes per customer requirements.
- Aid Quality Engineering in generating marking programs.
- Support site needs related to over-inspection, shipment write-ups, and other inspection/part shipment duties as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality inspection or a related technical role, preferably in manufacturing or production environments.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Absolutely must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree in a technical field (Engineering Technician) preferred.
- Full working knowledge in the use of inspection tools and gages, such as scribes, vernier calipers, height gages, depth gages, micrometers, cylindrical plugs and thread gages, periphery or PI tapes, decimal scales, indicators, inspection fixtures, coordinate measuring machine and other automated measuring devices.
- Experience in (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, ANSI, ASTM, NADCAP) preferred.
- CMM programming in PCDMIS preferred.
- Experience in Polyworks preferred.
- Ability to pay attention to detail while performing multiple tasks in a production environment.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to follow documented procedures, work instructions, and customer required records processes and to keep accurate records.
- Solid PC skills including MS Excel and Word.
